The Loyola CTA station McDonald’s has shuttered its doors today, Thursday, March 1, according to signage.

Employees milled about inside, apparently cleaning and removing signage. The main sign above the door facing North Sheridan Road had been removed.

Two white signs on the restaurant’s windows read, “Thank you for your business. We are now closed. Please visit us at the Granville & Broadway McDonald’s.”

Additional information was not immediately available, but the closure comes on the heels of a proposal to demolish the building housing the Harris Bank and McDonald’s to make room for a renovated CTA station, plaza included.

It is also important to note that the owner of the McDonald’s Express, located at 6536 N Sheridan Rd., also owns the Granville and Broadway restaurant, as well as several other McDonald’s in Chicago.

Once they rebuild the station they should open a Panda Express!
